CMHA HPE recognizes Eating Disorders Awareness Week

This week marks National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, a time dedicated to raising awareness and understanding about eating disorders. CMHA HPE is committed to supporting everyone who may be struggling with these complex conditions.

Eating disorders are serious mental health concern that can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. They are not choices, but rather conditions that require understanding, compassion, and professional care. Our aim during this week is not only to shed light on these disorders but also to foster a supportive community where anyone affected feels safe and encouraged to seek help.

Youthhab offers a Eating Disorder Program to people between the ages of 16-24. Learn more about the program here or call 613-969-0830.

We also recognize the importance of education in combating the stigma often associated with eating disorders. We encourage everyone to learn more, engage in open conversations, and extend support to those around them. Awareness and understanding are key steps towards a community where everyone feels valued and supported.

If you or someone you know is experiencing an eating disorder, please remember that help is available. You are not alone in this journey. Together, we can work towards healing and resilience.

Let’s stand together in support and awareness during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
